Kids Bible Club is a non-competitive alternative to Bible Quizzing. For churches whose context does not favour competitive tournaments, Kids Bible Club is the answer for getting kids fired up about the Bible.
Simply put, Kids Bible Club is a rewards system for kids to receive prizes as they memorize the Bible.
It can be set up however is necessary to fit time/space, but here are some common parameters of a Kids Bible Club:
Kids Bible Club is typically a one-hour weekly program. It can be done stand-alone or with Kids Prayer, snacks, Kids Worship songs, or whatever else fits the context. If your church has Prayer on Saturday nights or a midweek service this could be a good time-frame for a Kids Bible Club.
At the beginning of the each Kids Bible Club, the kids individually quote the memorized verses from the previous Kids Bible Club. For every verse that they quote, they get a token. If they memorize all the prescribed verses from that week, they can get a bonus token.
Every week, a child is given 5-10 verses to memorize for the beginning of the next week’s club (depending on their age). Time is given to get started with the memorization. Pairing kids up, and memorization games help to make it a social event.
Set up a variety of prize bins to redeem tokens:
1 token gets a reward (like a candy)
5 tokens get a reward (like a party favour)
10 tokens gets a reward (like a dollar store prize)
(optional: 25/50 tokens get rewards of more value)
