What activities are planned?
Crafts, Field Sports, Group Games, Water Sports, Swimming, Pool Games & much more!!
When can I drop off and pick up?
Campers can be dropped off immediately after checking in at the registration desk, and getting their luggage and bedding set up in their room.
Campers can be picked up from 10:30 AM until Noon on Saturday.
What should I pack?
Pillow & bedding (twin-size bedding or sleeping bag); At least 6 sets of play clothes and undergarments, extra footwear (one pair of closed-toed shoes), dress clothes for church (if you wish, but not required); A backpack or tote bag for day activities; Personal hygiene items, towels, washcloths, a light/rain coat, swim wear, bug spray, sunscreen, water bottle, and a hat; A bag for dirty laundry.
Helpful hint – Itemize a set of clothes for each day in separate grocery bags; it helps children to know what to wear, and where to put it after its worn.
What should I not pack?
Money, Electronic devices, Short shorts or Miniskirts (knee-length required), sleeveless tops (unless to be worn in layers).
What about canteen?
The kids will be able to buy snacks and refreshments of their choice. We will be having 9 canteen times throughout Kids Camp; every night, and every afternoon. This is done by a prepaid tab that is set up at registration so that no money gets lost/stolen. We recommend around $25-30 dollars. Our staff will moderate your child’s spending, based on the size of the remaining tab, so it will last the duration of camp. Any money remaining on the tab will be returned to the child on Saturday morning unless we are instructed otherwise.
Can my child still come to camp if they are younger than 6?
All children who have attended kindergarten can be registered as campers without adult accompaniment. Children aged 5 and under can also be registered as campers if they are accompanied by an approved adult who must pass Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector checks.
My kids are in different age groups, can they attend camp together?
To facilitate families, we allow siblings to attend Kids Camp in the same week. The weekly activities and teaching styles will still be specific to the designated age group for that week of Kids Camp. If you choose to combine a sibling in a camp that is not their age, we recommend sending the older sibling to the younger camp rather than sending the younger sibling to the older camp.
What if my child is a Day-Camper?
Drop-off/Pick-up: They can be dropped off at Bannon Campground for 9:00 AM breakfast, however, most parents prefer to bring them to the Morning Session at 10:30. Most parents pick their child up after the evening service, some prefer to pick them up at supper time and then return for the evening service. It is up to your preference; but either way, they must be checked in and out with a staff member every time.
What to bring: A backpack or bag containing a change of clothes (including footwear and undergarments). A light/rain coat, swim wear, bug spray, sunscreen, water bottle, towel, and hat.
What about discounts and volunteering?
Parents who volunteer for a week of Kids Camp can receive a 50% discount off of a kids camp registration. All volunteers must have pastoral approval, and must pass Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector checks. Volunteers are provided meals and lodging free of charge. Volunteer Application Form …
